On April 23rd, 2024, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 2078/BYT-VPB1 on ensuring healthcare services during the holidays of April 30th and May 1st. 

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam's request regarding ensuring healthcare services during the holidays of April 30th and May 1st, 2024

On April 12th, 2024, the Ministry of Labor - Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Notice 1570/TB-BLDTBXH on the proposal to move working days for the holidays of April 30th (Victory Day) and May 1st (International Workers' Day) in 2024 for officials, public employees, and workers of state administrative agencies, public service providers, and enterprises; officials, public employees, and workers will have a continuous 5-day holiday from April 27th, 2024 (Saturday) to May 1st, 2024 (Wednesday), and the working day of April 29th, 2024 (Monday) will be moved to May 4th, 2024 (Saturday).

To ensure healthcare and pandemic prevention during the aforementioned holidays, the Ministry of Health has requested relevant agencies and units to:

- Continue the strict implementation of directives from the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-governed cities regarding pandemic prevention, food safety, and continuous healthcare services. Individuals and organizations should not be negligent or disregard their responsibilities within their assigned functions and tasks, and should prioritize their awareness and responsibilities.

- Arrange 24/7 shifts for healthcare personnel during the holidays, ensuring sufficient human resources, facilities, medicines, medical equipment, and supplies to maintain the regular activities of agencies and units. Proactive monitoring and handling of emerging issues, as well as adherence to labor regulations for employees.

- Coordinate the police and relevant units in ensuring public security, traffic safety, crime prevention, fire prevention, and other related matters.
